4 Injured in Two-Car Collision on Highway 160
Bayfield, CO - An accident involving a van and a tow truck on U.S. Highway 160 left 4 people injured Saturday, June 22.
According to authorities, two sisters were driving in a van when it collided with a tow truck around 9:30 p.m.
The younger sister, who was in the passenger seat, was treated for severe injuries at the Children’s Hospital in Colorado Springs.
The girl’s older sister, who was driving the van, along with the driver and passenger of the tow truck, all suffered only minor injuries. Further information about the people involved in the crash has not been released.
A registered nurse and a former volunteer firefighter both stopped to assist the parties injured in the accident.
The road was wet after a rain shower, but there was no ice and the area was not foggy. Colorado State Patrol is continuing to investigate the accident
