Police Searching for Driver in Hit-and-Run that Killed Parker Cyclist
Parker, CO — Authorities are searching for the driver of a car involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a cyclist last week early on the Fourth of July holiday.
Edward Vogel, 64, was riding his bike around 6:25 a.m. on Thursday, July 4, when he was struck by a Kia sedan near Centennial Drive in Parker. The driver left the scene and abandoned the vehicle a few blocks away in the parking lot of the Victorian Village Townhomes.
Vogel was taken to the hospital where he later died of his injuries. According to a statement released by his family, he was s a “loving husband, father, community servant and soon to be grandfather.”
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information or surveillance footage of the hit-and-run or subsequent events to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867.
