Colorado Springs Man Killed in Pedestrian-Vehicle Accident Sunday Afternoon
Colorado Springs, CO - A 62-year-old man, identified as Albert McCoy, of Colorado Springs, was hit and killed by a car early Sunday afternoon August 18th.
According to police, the accident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. east of downtown Colorado Springs in the 2500 block of East Platte Avenue.
Reports say McCoy died at the scene.
At the time of the accident, a 2016 Nissan Leaf was reportedly traveling westbound in the center lane of Platte Avenue when it struck McCoy as he was attempting to cross the street northbound across a raised median.
It is not believed that excessive speed or impairment were factors in the crash.
No charges have been filed at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
