Driver Charged in Wednesday Night Vehicle-Pedestrian Accident

Pueblo, CO — Police have identified the driver accused of hitting and seriously injuring a pedestrian and then fleeing the scene Wednesday night July 17th in Pueblo. 

Investigators say Anthony Vasco, 22, struck a pedestrian with his car at the intersection of E. 19th Street and Norwood Avenue at approximately 9 p.m. Wednesday night.  

Vasco fled the scene of the accident after the crash.  He and the suspect vehicle were later located with a citizen’s assistance.  

The pedestrian, 67-year-old Robert Arellano, who sustained numerous serious injuries in the collision, remains hospitalized in a Denver area hospital 

Vasco was arrested on charges of DUI, leaving the scene of a serious bodily injury accident, and vehicular assault.
