Driver Killed After Hitting Utility Pole in Jefferson County
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (May 14, 2019) – An 18-year-old driver died after crashing into a traffic signal pole in Jefferson County. It happened near the intersection of Ken Caryl Avenue and South Kendall Boulevard shortly after 2 a.m.
A sedan struck a traffic pole. The 18-year-old, thrown from the car, died at the scene. The driver has not been identified.
The crash also damaged the traffic signal, closing the intersection for several hours while the signal was repaired.
It’s not clear what led up to the crash but authorities do say they don’t suspect drugs or alcohol.
The amount of debris surrounding the crash scene led investigators to believe the sedan struck other vehicles before hitting the pole.
