DUI driver kills woman in wrong-way Denver crash
DENVER (November 24, 2018) - Around 3 a.m. on Saturday, a 27-year-old woman was killed from a collision with a wrong-way driver going south on Northbound Santa Fe Drive and Dartmouth Avenue.
Police arrested the suspect, identified as Amanda Morris, on suspicion of driving under the influence. According to responding officers, Morris failed the field sobriety tests. She allegedly had slurred speech, smelled strongly of alcohol, and had trouble maintaining her balance.
Police took blood samples after taking Morris to the hospital to determine her blood alcohol levels.
The Denver Coroner's Office identified the victim as 27-year-old Kelly Anne Broderick.
