Durango Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Crash

Durango, CO- An accident involving a motorcycle left the rider severely injured. Wilford Albo, 45, was thrown from his motorcycle after he was struck by a Buick Enclave SUV in the evening on Friday, June 7th along Highway 3.

According to the Durango Police Department the Buick, driven by 66-year-old Anita Wigton, was turning left into a retail driveway when the accident occurred. After Albo was thrown from his motorcycle, it continued traveling until crashing into a Subaru parked in the parking lot of a nearby strip mall.

Fortunately for Albo, a nurse dining at a nearby restaurant witnessed the accident and was able to administer aid until medical services could arrive. Albo was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.

Although the crash is still under investigation, authorities do not suspect alcohol or drugs to be factors in the crash, and Ms. Wigton has not been cited.
