Two Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Poudre Canyon Saturday Afternoon

Poudre Canyon Motorcycle Accident

LOVELAND, CO (Sept. 12, 2019) — The Colorado State Patrol has identified two motorcyclists killed in a crash in Poudre Canyon Saturday afternoon Sept. 7th.

Brent Machado, 30, of Windsor, and Jamie Allen, 40, of Loveland, died following the accident that occurred just before 3:00 p.m. Saturday on Highway 14 near the Diamond Rock Picnic Area, said the CSP.

According to the CSP, Machado was at the controls of the motorcycle traveling eastbound near mile marker 110 of Colo. 14 at about 3 p.m. when Machado failed to negotiate a left-hand turn.  The motorcycle hit a post and a ditch, went airborne and hit the other side of the ditch. Allen was thrown from the motorcycle, while Machado was pinned underneath.

Alcohol and high speed were cited as possible causes for the accident, according to the CSP.

Allen was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, where she died later of her injuries.  Machado was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

According to her Facebook page, Allen was a massage therapist at Balanced Body Corrective Bodywork and Gold’s Gym in Loveland as well as a mother of eight.

A GoFundMe page for Allen had raised more than half of its $20,000 goal in two days.

The GoFundMe states, “Loveland friends and family, Gold’s Gym has lost one of our own this weekend. Anyone who came across Jamie knew of her deep empathy for others. She could feel others’ pain, joy, struggles, praises, and sorrows. That’s what made her the best at what she did. She truly cared about leaving people better than she found them.”

The family of Machado has not been reached for comment.
