Man Airlifted to Denver after Life-Threatening Cheyenne Crash

CHEYENNE (November 26, 2018) - The Cheyenne Police Department responded to a crash that took place around 9 p.m. on Monday which left two area drivers hospitalized.  The accident took place at the intersection of College Dr. and E. Pershing Blvd.

Marc Woods, 47, entered the intersection traveling eastbound on E. Pershing Blvd. when his Toyota Camry was struck.  The 17-year-old male driver who hit Woods was driving his Ford F-150 southbound on College Dr. Both men are residents of Cheyenne.

The two drivers were transported to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) where the juvenile was treated in the ICU. Woods was airlifted to the Swedish Medical Center in Denver after CRMC deemed his injuries to be severely life-threatening.

Due to the severity of the crash, police investigators are working to reconstruct the accident and determine the cause of the accident. Preliminary evidence suggests the teen was driving under the influence.

Officer Kevin Malatesta stated, “Any type of crash of this nature, of this severity, we want to make sure that we’re getting everybody who was there interviewed.”
