Motorcyclist Killed Wednesday Night in Manitou Springs
Colorado Springs, CO — A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night Sept. 4th after crashing on Highway 24 near the Manitou Avenue overpass.
The Colorado State Patrol and Manitou Springs police responded to the crash about 11:30 p.m. near Serpentine Drive in Manitou Springs, said Matt Pillman, a communications officer for the State Patrol.
Manitou Springs police believe the rider was the only person involved.
They are still investigating whether speeding and/or alcohol played any role.
Highway 24 near Manitou Springs was closed for hours following the deadly crash. Westbound lanes of the highway were blocked until about 3 a.m. on Thursday.
The rider has only been identified as a 40-year-old man.
