Multiple Injuries In Brighton School Bus Rollover
BRIGHTON, CO (9/27/2019) - A school bus rolled over near E. 136th Ave. and Buckley Road early Wednesday. Six students with special needs were on the bus at the time.
The rollover happened around 8:15 a.m. The six students on the bus, who are part of a program for autistic children, suffered minor injuries as well as two adults on board. All should make a full recovery.
The children were sent to the Children’s Hospital Colorado at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. As of 4:45 p.m. all but one of the children has returned home, the 27J school district spokeswoman, Tracy Rudnik, commented. She also noted that many of the students were able to walk off the bus.
Investigations as to the cause of the accident are still ongoing. Police believe that neither speed, alcohol, or drugs were factors in the accident. The police have impounded the bus to make sure there weren’t any mechanical issues that contributed to the accident.
Our deepest condolences go out to all of those impacted by this incident. If a victim or family member would like this post removed from the site for any reason, just click this link: REMOVE POST
