Rollover on I-76 Caused by Tire Failure Kills 1, Injures 2

A deadly rollover crash on I-76 killed one woman and left at least two others injured. The westbound lanes of the highway were closed to allow a medical helicopter to transport several victims to the hospital.

Officials reported that the crash happened around 10:30 a.m on Saturday, June 8th when a Dodge Caravan, carrying at least two adults and four children, experienced a tire failure that caused it to roll over several times.

The driver of the van, a 26-year-old man whose identity has not been released, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A 24-year-old woman riding in the van was also taken to the hospital.

Another passenger, 35-year-old Orelia Gaspar, died at the scene after she was ejected from the vehicle. Colorado State Patrol Troopers reported that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

According to CSP, there were five other people in the van, including several children. None of them were injured.
