Severe Crash in Thornton Closes Highway 7
Thornton, CO - A severe crash involving three vehicles left two people injured early Tuesday morning. One person was ejected in the crash and another required rescuers extricate them from their vehicle.
Thorton Police responded to the three-car crash at 5:39 a.m. on Colorado 7 near Holly Street. One vehicle ended up on its side and one person thrown from their vehicle in the chain-reaction crash. An airlift reported to the scene and transported one injured party to the hospital.
Brighton Fire Rescue crews brought in heavy equipment and worked for 25 min to free another injured person from a van involved in the wreck. A waiting ambulance transported the injured person directly to the hospital.
It is unclear if any citations were issued or arrests made in connection with the crash. Highway 7 remained closed for several hours between Holly and Quebec for investigation and cleanup.
