 Stolen Ferrari Crash in Arvada Leaves One Man DeadARVADA, Colo. - A 39-year-old man out for a joyride in a stolen Ferrari died early Wednesday morning when he crashed in Arvada near Ward Road and 64th Avenue.

Around 3 am on Wednesday, police received reports about a vehicle stolen from a local dealership. According to an Arvada Police Department press release, the man was driving the stolen 2007 Ferrari north on Ward Road near the 6900 block. He lost control of the vehicle, sending it off the east side of the road and into a fence and several trees.

Police identified the driver as 39-year-old Steven Andrews. He died at the scene. EMS transported his passenger, a woman whose name has not been released, to the hospital. Her injuries were not life-threatening.

The single-vehicle wreck closed Ward Road between 64th and 72nd avenues for almost 5 hours while police investigated. It is likely excessive speed was a major factor. Investigators have not said if drugs or alcohol were involved.
