Three Crashes on Colorado Roadways Kill Three, Children Suffer Serious Injuries
Greater Denver - On Sunday, Colorado State Patrol responded to three separate accidents, each involving a fatality. Three people died in the accidents, and children were among the seriously injured.
The first happened before sunrise when a car on I-25 hit the guard rail. Emergency responders transported the lone driver to the hospital where he later died.
The second accident occurred on US 285 in Park County. Police believe the vehicle rolled off the road. He was the only occupant and died as a result of the accident.
The third crash forced the closure of U.S. 36 late into Sunday evening. Colorado State Patrol troopers responded to investigate a three-vehicle crash on Highway 36 four miles west of Lyons in Boulder County.
An adult driver of a silver Porche was killed and a girl riding in a silver Toyota Highlander was seriously injured. She remained hospitalized at Longmont United Hospital. Another boy was airlifted to Denver due to the serious nature of his injuries. It is not clear whether he was a passenger in the Highlander or a tan Honda CRV, also involved in the crash.
