Woman Sustains Moderate Injuries in Tuesday Morning Crash

A crash briefly closed the intersection of Colo. 392 and Weld County Road 43 at about 7 a.m. Tuesday morning. The intersection is about two miles northeast of Greeley.

Officials are still determining the cause of the crash, but do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.   The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The accident occurred when the driver of a 2005 Volkswagen Beetle collided with the driver of a 2018 Dodge pickup.

The 43-year-old woman who drove the Beetle was taken to North Colorado Medical Center with moderate injuries. The 34-year-old driver of the pickup was not injured.

One of the vehicles hit and damaged a utility pole in the accident. Xcel Energy was made aware of the incident.

Lewis said he is unaware if the parties were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
